I have no clue who Dan Webb might be (except that Google tells me he’s from Boston, MA), but I would like to meet him and I would willingly subscribe to his newsletter. Or to put it another way, after eagerly blazing through the nine songs that make up the debut record he’s created with The Spiders, I can’t wait to hear more of his brand of raggedly soulful proto-punk. Mixing together dirty bar rock, key elements of ‘90s slacker indie rock, and limited tidbits of glam, Dan Webb And The Spiders is a rip-roaring collection of loud, up-tempo tunes that easily conjures up images of Craig Finn covering T. Rex tracks.
