In much the same fashion that I discussed the music of Prize Country yesterday, it’s important that I unpack the terms post-grunge and third-wave emo-core so I can get to the true heart of the sound employed by Balance And Composure. The difference with the Only Boundaries EP is that this 12” one-sided slice of wax initially sounded rather plodding and tired to me at first, so it took me a few listens to finally delve deeply into the sonic and lyrical subtexts at play on these four songs.
