I’ve listened to and reviewed the music of more indie (as in, independent) folk singer-songwriters this year than ever before on this site. Granted, as this site as grown and expanded over the course of 2009, I’ve found myself with the time and space necessary to turn down music that I just didn’t feel was up to snuff. The decision to not write about every single record that enters my e-mail inbox and ears has provided me the chance to talk up someone like Anthony D’Amato. This New Jersey resident has the talent, potential, and drive to step beyond the ranks of wandering troubadour who’s glad for any and every opening gig that comes his way up and down the eastern seaboard to signing onto a supportive record label, touring, and planning a schedule that’s best for his voice and style.
