It’s that time again! Yes, the amount of music I have to offer might be a bit lighter than usual, but we’re going to chalk that up to the PR and record companies taking a week off to prepare for a big summer full of great music (as there are many great records slated to hit the shelves in the coming weeks and months). Granted, us D-list music bloggers often don’t receive access to the super-duper, highly popular, sure-to-be-a-hit leaked songs. Oh well.

I have a question for my regular readers: Might any of you be interested in a contest? I’m sure that you wonder where you can procure many of the records I review here at Dryvetyme Onlyne, since I cover a decent amount of under-the-radar acts. Thus, if the populace is intrigued, I might be able to work up a monthly contest where one lucky reader will win a packet of records from my collection of already-reviewed music. Who amongst you likes this idea? Anyone?

That effort was much too boring and ponderous for my tastes, as the group attempted to merge shoegaze with post-rock to rather plodding results. Thus, when I obtained a review copy of The Mirror Explodes, I was curious as to what tack this quintet would take. Would the songs head off further in a more experimental, ambient direction, or would listeners be delighted by a return to the band’s roots?
