Are you saying that my inclusion of “Honorable Mentions” was a bit too indulgent on my part? Tsk tsk….

Since I don’t listen to a lot of music, I can’t really provide a list of great one’s of 08 — I’m still trying to catch up on the first 28 years of good music. And I would give a best of 08 for movies — but I haven’t been able to make it to the theatre as of late either. But I do rent DVD’s quite a bit and there have been a few movies that I have enjoyed this year.

    1. Sweeney Todd — I can say how much I liked this movie. I didn’t realize it was a musical but it was clear within a few minutes into the film – and I was pissed. I hate musicals. I decided to give it a few minutes anyway. And within those minutes I found myself caught up in the movie, forgetting that I hate musicals. Exceptionally gruesome, bloody, dark, and foreboding tragedy — and I enjoyed it immensely. Tim Burton did as Tim Burton does. As did Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

    2. Lions for Lambs — Another great movie. Can’t say much more about it but like it very, very much.

    3. No Country for Old Men — I liked this movie but I’m not sure why. I don’t know that it was a top film for me but it was good enough to speak about.

I’m sure there are others that I haven’t been able to watch as of yet but these are the three that have stuck in my mind from this years rentals.

[...] speed on what I feel have been the Top 10 Records of 2008. As with my post from earlier this year (The 1/3 Edition), I’ve included some albums that I have loved, but happen to fall just outside of the Top [...]
