Family Ties

I grew up loving the show and still enjoy watching re-runs when I can catch them on whatever random cable station might play the occasional episode. My family is like the inverse of the Keatons: 1) my parents are classic libertarian/conservatives, not barely reformed ex-hippies; 2) their eldest son is a left-leaning wannabe policy wonk who loves Ralph Nader, not a hard-right arch-conservative whose hero is Richard Nixon; 3) their second child is a stubborn guy who has plenty of female friends whose lives he loves saving, not an air-headed space cadet with a long-term boyfriend who drives a motorcycle and is from the wrong side of the tracks; 4) their third child is a strong-willed, out-in-front leader, not a classic hidden-in-the-crowd middle child who moans about being perpetually forgotten; and 5) well, these two kids are exactly alike in that they’re youngest children who covet every ounce of attention you can give them and pursue you fanatically to give it to them (complete with producing off-the-wall embarrassing comments on a regular basis).

Thus, I say all of that to say this: last Saturday, my family & I (with some friends of the family) gathered to celebrate Steve-O’s 20th Birthday, Steve-O being the aforementioned annoyingly lovable (most of the time) youngest brother. Attached (as usual, after the break) are some pictures and 2 videos from the evening of my great family, as strange as we all are. I know that I don’t feel old with all of us guys finally getting our of our teens, but I’m sure my parents do. We had a great time just being together. I do love my family.

Enjoy!

P.S. — All of these were taken with the wonderful Kodak EasyShare C763 camera that my parents gave me for my 28th Birthday. Thanks Mom & Dad!
