More after the break!

Just a short post today, mostly some links to what I’ve been reading lately & some pictures from the past few days of camp. I’m almost to the stage where I’m counting the hours before I get to go home. This whole experience has been wonderful, but I’m also VERY ready to get back home and resume my place in the “real world”. And no, I’m not talking about that once-good, now-hokey MTV “reality” show, but regular, non-camp life. As I’ve said before, I am working with some great people, people who be my friends in the “real world”, but we’re not there — we’re at camp. With any luck, I’ll keep in contact with some of them after camp; you don’t spend 8 weeks together without making some life-long connections.
And with that, here’s some media after the break. Enjoy!

Ahhhh…. Camp Staff…. I do like being out here, as crazy as these folks are. Granted, the craziest ones are my brothers, but I’ve known that for awhile. Enjoy!

They were outcasts and weirdoes, making music in a scene comprising like-minded (if dissimilar) souls with no other place to go. These days, Harry is a star, and several of Blondie’s songs established classics. Yet she and the group continue to tour and make new music, and Harry herself has a new solo album, Necessary Evil, due this August, while her band’s Eat to the Beat was recently reissued. We spoke to her about making music then versus now, what made Blondie unique for a punk band, and the end of the CBGB’s era. Continue reading “Interview w/ Debbie Harry”
