My Tongue Afire

Category: Uncategorizeddryvetyme @ 08:08

It’s rather warm in here
And the more I speak
The hotter it becomes.
Every time I use my tongue
Someone falls and the heat ratchets up.

Words fly
And temperatures rise.
I’d love for it to cool down
But I can’t seem to shut my mouth.

With my flapping gums
And with my pointed words
I just might chop you down.
And with all these fresh wood chips
I’m gonna burn it all to the ground.

Words fly
And temperatures rise.
I’d love for it to cool down
But I can’t seem to shut my mouth.

Words kill
And words hurt
The tongue a fire so deadly
Keep a careful watch
Extinguisher at the ready!

Words fly
And temperatures rise.
I’d love for it to cool down
But I can’t seem to shut my mouth.
